Pula Croatia Off-Season
Pula, Croatia
Pula in October is a small miracle. The Roman arena is still there, used for concerts and films, and you wander it almost alone. The Istrian peninsula has olive oil and truffles to rival Tuscany at half the price. Skip summer, come now.

Rent a car for one day at least. Istria's hill towns - Groznjan, Motovun - are an hour inland and totally worth it.
