Split in January or February gets very few visitors and thats half the appeal. The old town is built inside a Roman emperors palace, the Riva promenade catches the southern sun, and you can have a fish lunch at half the summer price.

- Dinner at Konoba Marjan or a small backstreet konoba.

- Marjan hill walk, slow pace.
- Afternoon.
- Coffee in Bacvice neighbourhood, browse.
- Evening.
- Easy fish dinner before flying out.

- Mid-range. Murum Heritage Hotel - in a palace wall.
- Splurge. Hotel Park - elegant, just outside the centre.

Cevapi window. Standing only. The local snack.
One local tip nobody tells you
The Green Market opens early and is a great breakfast scene - get fruit and burek and eat on the steps.
